ALPACA

Alpaca fibre is humanely shorn from the cute and curious species of South American Camelid, Vicugna Pacos. The alpaca’s soft feet tread gently on the soil, and they eat a light diet of grass, making alpaca the most sustainable animal fibre. We source our alpaca directly from the Peruvian Highlands and process it in an eco friendly manner, utilizing solar power, a thorough hand sorting, and sophisticated water purification techniques to remove polluting substances from wastewater before disposal. Alpaca fibre is soft and warm with a slight sheen. Alpaca fibres are long, which makes them durable with a cloud-like lightness. Despite its name, baby alpaca is sourced from animals of varying ages. It’s baby softness, resulting from the small diameter of each individual hair, earned it the name Baby Alpaca.
